  1. football(soccer) players aren’t aloud to have metal studs due to injuries etc . so the answer is rubber or plastic .

  2. The soles of the boots are moulded plastic so there can be a range of stud shapes (some are quite elongated rather than just round studs) and varying lengths for different playing conditions
