Beach Chalet Soccer Fields - EIR Hearing - 2-23-11 . Concerned citizens and neighbors discuss the project and outline topics for the EIR. This project will replace a meadow with over 7 acres of artificial turf, and adds concrete paving, and additional asphalt. It also adds 10 banks of 60 foot tall sports lights to Golden Gate Park. The western end of Golden Gate Park is designated as the wilder and more undeveloped section of the park in the 1998 Golden Gate Park Master Plan. Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina has an excellent 2.5 mile athletic loop. That gives anybody the option of doing as many or as few miles as they feel comfortable with. If youre not sure you want to do a twenty mile skate, then come do some laps at the beach. During the off-season when the tourists are away, we have the place pretty much to ourselves in the evenings. We skate the loop very often and meet at the parking lot at the end of Bob Sawyer Drive. That is the road next to the soccer fields about a mile past the drawbridge. Take a left just past the police station
